Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT) has successfully handled another mega mainline vessel, M.V. MSC Marianna, which berthed at the terminal on May 17, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the terminal and the V.O. Chidambaranar Port ecosystem.

The vessel, with a Length Overall (LOA) of 304 metres and a carrying capacity of 6,724 TEUs, arrived from Veracruz, Mexico, underscoring DBGT’s growing capability to efficiently manage large mainline container vessels.

DBGT attributed the achievement to the continued support and strategic vision of the V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, whose infrastructure development and facilitation efforts are strengthening Tuticorin’s emergence as a key gateway for global trade.

The terminal also acknowledged MSC Liner for its continued confidence in re-routing mainline mega vessels to DBGT, a move expected to further enhance the port’s global connectivity and cargo growth.

DBGT expressed gratitude to the EXIM trade community, shipping fraternity and operational teams for their continued trust, collaboration and commitment towards maintaining high standards in vessel handling and terminal operations.

The terminal reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Tuticorin’s position as a preferred hub for international shipping and logistics.
