DP World, in collaboration with logistics software provider OneStop, has rolled out a new container management system, OptiBook, at its Fisherman Island Terminal in Brisbane. The system, which went live on 10 July, is aimed at boosting operational efficiency and enhancing visibility for transport operators.

OptiBook functions as an extension of the existing Vehicle Booking System (VBS), enabling operators to manage their entire container workflow from a single screen. Key features include an upgraded Container List screen displaying hold status, estimated discharge dates, and storage start dates, along with a new Notify Me alert that informs operators when containers are ready for booking.

According to Nicolaj Noes, Executive Vice President, Oceania, DP World, the launch supports the company’s broader strategy to enhance services in Brisbane, a vital trade hub for Queensland. The system was initially introduced at the vessel level to ensure a smooth user transition.

Sam Askin, CEO of OneStop, described the deployment of OptiBook as a major step towards improving supply chain transparency and efficiency. He noted that the platform integrates seamlessly with existing VBS processes while offering enhanced booking access and real-time communication via the OneStop Deliver App.

The initiative is expected to reduce dwell times, optimize truck utilization, and contribute to a more streamlined supply chain across the region.
