Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has reported a strong performance in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) handling during FY 2025-26, reinforcing its position as a key hub in India’s maritime and energy logistics network. Guided by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the port continues to play a vital role in supporting the country’s energy security and trade infrastructure.
During the fiscal year, DPA Kandla handled 133 LPG vessels and processed 2.61 million metric tonnes (MMT) of LPG cargo, registering an impressive 25 per cent year-on-year growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The achievement highlights the port’s operational efficiency, streamlined cargo handling processes, and enhanced vessel turnaround capabilities.
Port officials attributed the growth to continued investments in infrastructure modernization, digitalization initiatives, and close coordination with shipping lines, terminal operators, and logistics partners. The increased LPG throughput also reflects rising domestic demand and growing confidence among trade stakeholders in Kandla’s world-class facilities.
As one of India’s leading ports for bulk and liquid cargo, DPA Kandla serves as a critical gateway for LPG imports and distribution, ensuring a reliable supply of clean fuel to consumers and industries across the country. The performance aligns with the government’s broader objectives of strengthening energy security, improving logistics efficiency, and developing world-class maritime infrastructure under the Maritime India Vision 2030.
With continued focus on capacity expansion, technology adoption, and customer-centric operations, DPA Kandla is well-positioned to further enhance its role in India’s maritime trade and energy logistics ecosystem.
