German container carrier Hapag-Lloyd has reaffirmed its support for transits through the Suez Canal as the Gemini Cooperation resumes operations on its IMX service.

The restart of the IMX route marks a strategic move to restore connectivity between key trade lanes, following earlier disruptions that had prompted network adjustments. By returning to the Suez Canal passage, the carrier aims to optimize transit times and enhance schedule reliability for customers.

Industry observers note that the decision reflects improving confidence in routing stability and the importance of the Suez Canal as a critical artery for Asia–Europe trade. The IMX service is expected to offer streamlined port rotations and competitive transit options under the Gemini Cooperation framework.

The development underscores ongoing efforts by global shipping lines to recalibrate networks, balance operational efficiency, and maintain service continuity amid evolving geopolitical and security considerations.
