Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) had the privilege of hosting senior officials from the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) at its premises. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Chairperson, JNPA and CMD, Vadhvan Port Project Limited (VPPL).

During the visit, Shri Wagh led discussions on the strategic vision of the upcoming Vadhvan Port, highlighting its pivotal role in strengthening India’s maritime infrastructure and driving economic growth. The deliberations focused on how Vadhvan Port will serve as a catalyst in shaping the nation’s maritime future, enabling global trade connectivity, and enhancing India’s competitiveness on the world stage.

The interaction also emphasized advancing Maharashtra’s growth through key areas such as talent mobility, trade promotion, and technology partnerships. The IFS officials acknowledged the critical importance of collaborative efforts between the maritime sector and India’s diplomatic community to unlock new opportunities for global engagement and sustainable development.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh said, “Vadhvan Port is a game-changing initiative that will not only enhance India’s port capacity but also position Maharashtra as a hub for trade, logistics, and innovation. Engagement with our diplomatic fraternity is vital in promoting India’s maritime vision at the international level.”

The visit underlines JNPA’s commitment to fostering strategic dialogues that align with the Government of India’s vision for port-led development under the Sagarmala programme.
