LG Electronics is strengthening India’s role in its global manufacturing and export strategy, with the company positioning the country as an increasingly important production base for international markets.

At its first annual general meeting following its listing, LG Electronics India said it already exports Made-in-India products to more than 50 countries. The company is targeting exports of its Essential Series products to 22 countries in 2026, expanding its reach across emerging markets.

A major part of the strategy is the company’s new manufacturing facility at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. LG Electronics has invested around ₹5,000 crore in the plant, which is expected to begin operations by December and will also function as an export hub.

The Sri City facility is designed to increase production capacity while strengthening LG’s supply chain in southern India. The company has previously said the plant will support both domestic and export demand, with manufacturing expected to include compressors and room air conditioners as production ramps up.

LG India is pursuing a three-part strategy built around “Make for India, Make in India and Make India Global.” The company is increasing localisation, developing products suited to Indian consumers and using India’s manufacturing scale and cost competitiveness to access overseas markets.

The company has also identified premium products as an important component of its export expansion, particularly for advanced markets, while the Essential Series is being targeted at emerging markets. LG said its India operations are increasingly serving as a platform for expanding into new global destinations.

LG Electronics India’s export push comes alongside strong domestic performance. In Q4 FY26, the company reported revenue from operations of ₹80.54 billion, up 8.1% year on year, while full-year FY26 revenue reached ₹246.05 billion.

The company is also working to deepen local sourcing. Its localisation rate reached 55.2% in FY26, with LG targeting further annual improvements to strengthen cost competitiveness and reduce exposure to currency fluctuations.

For India’s manufacturing and logistics sectors, LG’s expansion could generate additional demand for domestic component suppliers, warehousing, multimodal transportation and export logistics. With the Sri City facility adding capacity, India is set to play a larger role in LG’s global production and distribution network.
