Maersk has announced revised import storage tariffs at the ports of Rijeka and Koper, with the updated charges set to impact container storage costs for cargo moving through the two Adriatic gateways.
The adjustments are part of the carrier’s ongoing review of operational and terminal-related costs, aimed at aligning tariff structures with current market and port conditions. Industry sources said the revised storage rates will apply to import containers exceeding designated free storage periods at the respective terminals.
Rijeka in Croatia and Koper in Slovenia serve as important regional gateways for Central and Eastern European cargo, handling a growing share of containerized trade moving between Europe and Asia. Shipping lines and terminal operators have increasingly focused on optimizing yard utilization and cargo flow efficiency amid fluctuating trade volumes.
Logistics stakeholders noted that storage tariff revisions can influence cargo planning and inland transportation decisions, particularly for importers managing supply chain timelines and terminal dwell times. Maersk said customers would receive updated tariff details and implementation schedules through official service notifications.
