    A high-level Indian delegation led by Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), visited Tuas Port in Singapore to gain insights into global best practices in port infrastructure and operations.

    The delegation included Shri Venkatesapathy S, IAS, Joint Secretary (Ports, IT & E-Governance), Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, Chairperson of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, and Dr. Shilpak N. Ambule, High Commissioner of India to Singapore, along with other senior officials.

    During the visit, the team undertook a comprehensive review of Tuas Port’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced automation technologies, and integrated digital systems that enable seamless and efficient cargo handling. The port, regarded as one of the most technologically advanced in the world, showcased cutting-edge solutions in terminal automation, data-driven operations, and sustainability initiatives.

    The visit highlighted India’s strategic intent to benchmark against leading global ports and accelerate the development of smart, sustainable, and future-ready port ecosystems. Insights gained are expected to support ongoing efforts under MoPSW to enhance operational efficiency, modernize port infrastructure, and strengthen India’s position in global maritime trade.
