In a landmark development for India’s aviation sector, the much-anticipated Noida International Airport is scheduled to be inaugurated on March 28, 2026, marking a major milestone in the country’s infrastructure growth.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to officially inaugurate the state-of-the-art airport. Located in Jewar, the mega project is poised to become India’s largest airport and a key aviation hub in North India.
Strategically positioned to serve the National Capital Region (NCR), the new airport is expected to significantly enhance both domestic and international connectivity. It will also help decongest existing airports in the region, particularly Indira Gandhi International Airport, which currently handles a major share of the country’s air traffic.
Beyond its aviation capabilities, the Noida International Airport is set to emerge as a powerful engine for regional economic growth. The project is anticipated to attract substantial investments, boost tourism, and generate large-scale employment opportunities across Noida, Greater Noida, and surrounding areas.
With operations likely to commence shortly after inauguration, the airport is expected to strengthen India’s position as a global aviation and logistics hub. The development underscores the country’s continued push towards modern, integrated infrastructure to support its growing economy.
The inauguration marks not just the launch of a new airport, but a transformative step forward for travel, trade, and connectivity in North India.
