North Sea Port has expressed support for the proposed development of the Starck terminal , viewing the project as a strategic step toward strengthening regional cargo handling capacity and industrial logistics infrastructure.

Port officials said the planned terminal is expected to enhance operational capabilities, improve multimodal connectivity and support future growth in cargo throughput across the port complex. The development could also attract additional industrial and logistics activity to the region.

Industry sources noted that the Starck terminal project is aimed at expanding handling facilities for bulk and industrial cargo while improving efficiency in storage, transport and distribution operations. Enhanced rail, inland waterway and road connectivity are also expected to play a key role in the project’s logistics integration.

North Sea Port, which spans parts of Belgium and the Netherlands, has been focusing on infrastructure modernisation and sustainable port development to strengthen its position within the European maritime and industrial network. Analysts said investments in terminal capacity remain critical as ports adapt to evolving trade flows and supply chain demands.

The port authority added that the proposed terminal aligns with broader long-term plans to support economic growth, attract new business activity and improve competitiveness within the European logistics sector.
