Ocean Network Express (ONE) has introduced temporary adjustments to its empty container return policy across ports in the Middle East, as the carrier seeks to manage equipment flows amid ongoing operational disruptions in the region.
The revised guidelines aim to regulate where and when customers can return empty containers, helping the shipping line maintain better control of equipment positioning while ensuring the availability of containers in areas where demand remains high.
According to the advisory issued by Ocean Network Express, customers are required to follow updated depot instructions and designated return locations before delivering empty containers. The carrier noted that the measures are temporary and may be adjusted depending on developments affecting regional shipping operations.
Industry sources say such restrictions are often introduced when container flows become imbalanced due to service disruptions, port congestion or changes in vessel schedules.
