OOCL has announced the launch of its new Southeast Asia–Indian Subcontinent (SIS) service, marking a strategic expansion of its intra-Asia shipping network amid rising regional trade demand.

The newly introduced SIS service is designed to strengthen connectivity between key ports across Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent, offering customers a more comprehensive and reliable logistics solution. The service is expected to enhance cargo movement across major manufacturing and consumption hubs, supporting sectors such as textiles, electronics, machinery, and agricultural commodities.

According to the company, the SIS service will provide improved transit times and optimized port rotation, ensuring faster and more efficient delivery schedules. It also aims to deliver greater schedule integrity, a critical factor for shippers navigating ongoing supply chain uncertainties and fluctuating demand patterns across global markets.

The move comes as intra-Asia trade continues to witness steady growth, driven by shifting supply chains, regional manufacturing expansion, and increasing consumption in emerging markets. By introducing this dedicated service, OOCL is positioning itself to better capture cargo flows within one of the world’s most dynamic trade corridors.

In addition to boosting connectivity, the SIS service is expected to offer enhanced capacity and flexibility, allowing customers to better manage shipment volumes and respond to market changes. The service will also integrate seamlessly with OOCL’s broader global network, enabling efficient transshipment options and extended reach to international destinations.

With the launch of the SIS service, OOCL reinforces its commitment to expanding service offerings and supporting customers with reliable, efficient, and competitive shipping solutions across the Asia region.
