SITC Container Lines has expanded its China–India network with the launch of the Far East–India Express (FIE) service, the company said in a statement.
The service was marked by the maiden voyage of the 2,433-TEU SITC CAGAYAN, which berthed at DP World’s Chennai Container Terminal on 25 September 2025.
The new loop connects Tianjin (Xingang), Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Haldia, before proceeding to Yangon, Ho Chi Minh City and Incheon, then returning to North China.
The service is operated with six vessels on a 42-day rotation, with SITC CAGAYAN carrying out the first north Asia departure earlier in September.
Independent port records confirm SITC CAGAYAN’s call at Chennai on 25 September under the FIE service code. Class registers list the vessel as 188.8 meters in length overall with a nominal capacity of 2,433 TEU. SITC described the new offering as aimed at providing “stable and efficient” door-to-door logistics.
SITC International Holdings is a Hong Kong-listed company specializing in intra-Asia container shipping and logistics. The group reported US$1,664.5 million in revenue and US$633.4 million in net profit for the first half of 2025, carrying 1.83 million TEU.
