The GOLDEN THETIS, a newly built chemical tanker from Japan’s renowned Asakawa Shipyard, has officially joined the global fleet under the full technical management of Synergy Marine Group.
Named after the sea goddess of Greek mythology — a protector, guide and force of nature — GOLDEN THETIS represents more than just a fleet expansion. It marks a significant milestone for Synergy Navis Marine Pvt Ltd (SNPL), the Pune-based arm of Synergy Marine Group, as its 100th vessel under management since its establishment in 2014.
When SNPL launched in Pune, a city celebrated for culture and academia but distant from the sea, many questioned whether a world-class ship management hub could thrive inland. A decade later, SNPL has provided a resounding answer. Today, operating under a standalone Document of Compliance (DOC), the company manages a portfolio of 78 chemical tankers, with many more having successfully completed their lifecycle under its care.
Vikas Trivedi, Co-CEO – Tanker and Gas Carrier Division, Synergy Marine Group, said:
“It is a privilege to work with a select group of shipowner partners whose trust we deeply value. Over the years, these relationships have strengthened through consistent delivery, transparent engagement, and the dedication of our teams ashore and professionalism of our seafarers. The arrival of GOLDEN THETIS is a proud moment for Synergy Navis, but above all, it is a reminder of our responsibility to deliver safe, reliable and sustainable ship management every day.”
The milestone was marked with ceremonies both at sea and ashore — from a traditional blessing on board and celebrations with crew and partners, to a gathering in Pune attended by Synergy Marine Group leaders including Group CEO Jesper Kristensen, Co-CEO – Ship Management (Dry Vessel Division) Ajay Chaudhry, Co-CEO – Tanker and Gas Carrier Division Vikas Trivedi, and SNPL Managing Director Captain Sai Raj.
As Synergy Navis Marine looks ahead, the company says the GOLDEN THETIS milestone underscores its vision for the next decade: innovation, sustainability, and continued partnership in global chemical tanker management.
