Pacific International Lines (PIL) has completed its first intermodal shipment from Beira, Mozambique to Chegutu, Zimbabwe — a journey covering over 700 kilometres by road. The consignment, comprising stranded wire, ropes, and cables in a single container load, underscores the carrier’s focus on delivering seamless, customer-centric logistics solutions.

The cargo’s journey began on the Calcutta Express Service (CAS) from Calcutta to Singapore, before being transshipped onto the Mozambique Feeder Service (MZS) to Beira. From there, it was transported inland by truck to Chegutu, connecting the Zimbabwean town directly to global trade lanes.

PIL said it continues to strengthen its offerings in Mozambique and Zimbabwe through reliable shipping services, robust local agency support, and efficient cross-border connections. The company noted that this milestone reflects its commitment to enabling smarter logistics across Africa and linking inland destinations to world markets.
