DP World’s $2.5 billion investment in developing end-to-end logistics infrastructure worldwide in 2025 is set to create nearly 5,000 new construction jobs across five countries, underscoring the company’s role in driving economic transformation through trade.

The international supply chain solutions leader, which already employs more than 100,000 people globally, is spearheading major transport projects in India, Britain, Ecuador, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

“We are delighted that our investment is providing jobs for almost 5,000 people this year alone to help deliver major upgrades to the transport infrastructure of five different countries,” said Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World. “When the projects are complete, the construction workers will leave a legacy of world-class logistics infrastructure which will benefit customers, communities and continents for the next 50 years.”

    Key Developments Across Markets

India: 2,500 jobs are being created through the construction of a new terminal at Tuna Tekra in the northwest and the delivery of new rail and inland terminals.

Senegal: The deep-sea port at Ndayane is generating 600 jobs and is expected to support the nation’s economic development for decades.

Democratic Republic of Congo: Around 500 jobs are being created at the Port of Banana, the country’s first deep-sea port.

United Kingdom: London Gateway’s $1 billion expansion, including two new berths and a second rail terminal, is generating 1,000 jobs, positioning it to become Britain’s largest port by the end of the decade.

Ecuador: Expansion at DP World Posorja is providing over 300 construction jobs and 100 new operational roles.

Beyond these immediate job gains, the projects will create thousands of direct and indirect roles while boosting regional transport connectivity and trade competitiveness.

DP World’s flagship Jebel Ali Freezone in Dubai already employs 160,000 people, reflecting the company’s global scale. The new developments form part of its strategy to build an integrated logistics network that helps customers remain competitive in an increasingly unpredictable trading environment.
