A city-based air logistics company has approached the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS), alleging that two gold traders cheated it of Rs 1.7 crore by failing to pay for or return a gold consignment.
Based on the complaint, CCS police have registered cases against Biswajith Kinkar Senapathi and Prasenjith Pakhira.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant company provides parcel services, including transportation of gold and silver consignments. The accused were regular clients who availed the firm’s Valuable Payable Post (VPP) service, under which payment for consignments was to be made within 15 to 20 days of receipt.
Under this arrangement, the logistics firm would remit the payment to the respective consignors after deducting a 2 per cent service charge.
The complaint stated that in December 2025, the accused collected gold consignments on different dates. However, they allegedly neither made the agreed payment within the stipulated time nor returned the gold.
When the firm attempted to contact them regarding the pending dues, the accused were reportedly unreachable and stopped responding to calls.
The complainant alleged that the duo failed to pay for 1,791 grams of gold valued at approximately Rs 1.7 crore, thereby causing wrongful loss to the company.
Police officials said an investigation into the matter is underway.
