Neptune Pacific Line has suspended bookings for cargo moving between the Middle East and the South Pacific, citing growing operational and security risks affecting regional shipping routes.

The carrier said it will temporarily stop accepting shipments on the trade lane as shipping lines reassess vessel movements and safety measures in light of escalating tensions near the Strait of Hormuz.

Industry sources note that the decision reflects a broader trend among container carriers that are adjusting networks, suspending services, or diverting cargo to alternative routes to reduce exposure to potential disruptions in the Gulf region.

The booking suspension may impact exporters and importers across Pacific island markets and parts of Oceania that rely on regular liner services linking the Middle East with South Pacific destinations.

Neptune Pacific Line said it will continue to monitor the situation and review the suspension as conditions evolve, with further updates expected once operational risks in the region ease.
