CMA CGM and Asyad Group have announced plans to develop a new $400 million terminal at Port of Sohar, strengthening Oman’s position as a key maritime and logistics hub in the region.

The project is expected to expand container handling capabilities, improve supply chain connectivity, and support growing trade flows through Oman. The new terminal will enhance port infrastructure and provide additional capacity to serve regional and international shipping networks.

The partnership combines CMA CGM’s global shipping expertise with Asyad’s logistics and infrastructure capabilities, creating opportunities to improve cargo movement and attract more maritime trade activity to Sohar.

The development aligns with Oman’s strategy to expand its logistics sector, increase port competitiveness, and strengthen its role as a gateway connecting Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and global markets.

The investment is expected to contribute to economic growth, create new logistics opportunities, and support the long-term expansion of Oman’s maritime infrastructure.
