    CGST Kutch Commissionerate announces the second highest GST revenue collection of Rs. 355 Crores for June 2024, resulting in absolute growth of Rs. 133.50 Crores at a growth rate of 60.28% compared to June 2023 revenue of Rs. 221.45 Crores.

    It is noteworthy to mention that the monthly average revenue of the Commissionerate has also been continuously growing over the years, as it has grown from Rs.160 Crores for F.Y. 2020-21 to Rs.191 Crores for F.Y. 2021-22 to Rs. 225 Crores for F.Y. 2022-23 toRs. 257 Crores for F.Y. 2023-24, which has further shot up to Rs. 334 Crorestill June 2024 in current Financial Year.

    The Commissionerate has also achieved yet another record of reaching the milestone of crossing Rs. 1,000 Crores in the first three months of the current Financial Year. In contrast, for reaching the milestone of Rs. 1,000 Crores, took four months in the previous Financial Year2023-24 and five months in FY 2022-23. Besides, in the first quarter of this Financial Year by realising approximately Rs. 1,002 Crores, this Commissionerate clocked a 28.50% growth rate over a cumulative growth rate of 51% and absolute growth of Rs. 1,150 Crores, in the last three Financial Years.

    In the backdrop of the said achievements, this commissionerate celebrated the 7th GST day at IFFCO’s Auditorium Hall, Gandhidham. The celebrations were graced by the Chief Guest Shri Dinesh Singh, Development Commissioner, Guests of Honour Shri K. Engineer, Pr. Commissioner, Customs Mundra, Shri. M Rammohan Rao, Commissioner, Customs Kandla and Shri Chirag Koradia, IGP, Border Range, Bhuj and Special Guests Shri Anant Singh, DIG, BSF, other senior Government officials from various departments and eminent representatives from the trade and industry.

    A Video depicting the journey of GST before its introduction and in the last 7 years, was displayed. On this occasion, Shri P. Anand Kumar, Commissioner of CGST Kutch spoke about the achievements of the Kutch Commissionerate during the last seven years including highest ever Annual GST revenue collection of Rs. 3,082 Crores for FY 2023-24, demonstrating a growth rate of 14.37% over and above cumulative growth rate of 48% and absolute growth of Rs. 965.25 Crores growth achieved in the last three Financial Years. The commissioner has also informed the gathering that monthly average revenue which used be Rs. 105 Crores in 2017-18 has shot up to Rs. 355 Crores, resulting in approximately 3.5 times growth. The commissioner has also highlighted another important achievement of a substantial No. of more than 9,000 long pending SCNs out of 10,000 Notices issued. He also updated us about the trade facilitation measures introduced by the Government in the last GST council meeting like waiver of interest and penalty in cases of notices issued under Section 73 of the CGST Act 2017, if the tax liability is discharged by 31-03-2025; extending the time limit for availing ITC under Section 16(4) of the CGST Act, 2017 for the period July 2017 to March 2021; reduction in pre-deposit for filing of appeal before Commissioner and Additional/Joint Commissioner (Appeals).

    Commissioner has also dwelt upon several trade-friendly measures initiated locally by organizing 25 outreach programmes, wherein more than 2,500 representatives from trade and industry actively participated, to ensure that the steps taken by the Govt to enhance ease of doing business, are conveyed to the trade and industry till last mile. Commissioner has also highlighted activities taken up under the Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan like the Plantation of trees to extend greenery at Gandhidham and Dholavira also and the implementation of 25 projects by construction of several toilets and urinals, providing water purification systems, Water coolers, dustbins, floor mounted Hot/Cold water dispensers, copper/steel bottles at various schools and Health Care Centers. The project of plantation for Rs. 19 Lakhs at DC -5 area, behind SP office, Gandhidham (Garbage recycling plant) in 5 acres of area is also coming up shortly, as announced by the Commissioner.

    Commendation certificates were provided to the top performers of trade and industry as well as the Officers and staff of the Commissinerate, who have demonstrated excellence in the key areas of work. A cultural programme depicting various forms of Indian dance was also conducted by tapping in-house talent.
