AD Ports Group has launched the UAE’s first national shipbuilders consortium under its maritime arm, Noatum Maritime, in a move aimed at strengthening the country’s shipbuilding, repair, and marine engineering capabilities.

The consortium is expected to bring together local and regional industry players to support the development of a more integrated maritime manufacturing ecosystem in the UAE. The initiative will focus on enhancing collaboration across shipbuilding, vessel maintenance, retrofitting, and marine technology services.

Industry stakeholders said the move aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy to expand its maritime industrial base and position itself as a regional hub for marine services and advanced shipbuilding activities. The consortium is also expected to support local talent development and encourage greater private-sector participation in maritime infrastructure projects.

AD Ports noted that the initiative under Noatum Maritime aims to improve operational synergies and strengthen the UAE’s competitiveness in global maritime and offshore sectors amid rising demand for specialized marine solutions and sustainable shipping technologies.
