Kyrgyzstan has imposed a temporary ban on animal imports from India following concerns over the Nipah virus. The decision affects the shipment of livestock and related animal products to the Central Asian country.

Indian authorities are reportedly in touch with Kyrgyz regulators to assess the situation and ensure trade safety measures are in place. The ban comes as part of Kyrgyzstan’s precautionary steps to prevent the entry of infectious animal diseases, following reports of Nipah outbreaks in parts of India.

Trade analysts said the move could temporarily disrupt livestock exports to the region, but noted that India continues to supply to multiple international markets with strict biosecurity and health compliance standards.
