The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) has marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its first Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) at Saradhana on 20 March 2026.
The terminal was inaugurated by Praveen Kumar, Managing Director of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), in the presence of senior officials including directors and regional leadership from both organisations.
Spread across 4.3 acres, the Saradhana GCT is equipped with modern cargo handling infrastructure and offers seamless rail-road connectivity, aimed at improving freight efficiency and logistics integration.
The facility, designated as DGSN, is expected to handle around 40 rakes per month, translating to an annual capacity of approximately 1.5 million tonnes. It will cater to a diverse cargo mix including containers, marble, granite, minerals, and other goods.
Strategically located near Ajmer in Rajasthan, the terminal is poised to strengthen first- and last-mile connectivity, linking the region to key ports such as Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), Port of Pipavav, and Mundra Port via the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).
The commissioning of this GCT aligns with India’s broader logistics modernisation and multimodal integration goals under the Gati Shakti initiative, enhancing supply chain efficiency and reducing transportation bottlenecks.
