As Tamil Nadu prepares to host the next edition of the regional investment conclave, TN Rising, in Coimbatore on Tuesday, the State is poised to reposition the city as a high-tech industrial and innovation hub.

The conclave is expected to witness investment signings from new and existing companies across auto electronics, aerospace and defence, digital infrastructure, life sciences, and several other sectors. According to sources, the primary focus for Coimbatore is strengthening supply chains across industries. With the region already home to several large anchor companies, industry stakeholders believe it is time for the entire value chain to operate in closer proximity to one another. Instead of a few large MoUs, the event is likely to see a wide range of agreements from multiple players.

Among the key expected announcements are investments from Johnson Electric, which plans to invest around ₹1,300 crore in manufacturing Permanent Magnet DC motors, and Hyundai Wia, which is set to commit about ₹1,200 crore for its electric four-wheeler drivetrain components facility.

In a significant development for the life sciences sector, Dharmapuri district is set to welcome a major investment, with medtech firm Telth Healthcare preparing to establish a new facility with an outlay of nearly ₹1,250 crore.

While Coimbatore has long been known for its robust auto and auto-component ecosystem, it has recently emerged as a hub for precision manufacturing for aerospace and defence. The city is also steadily enhancing its IT and R&D capabilities to attract global capability centres, underscoring its growing potential as a diversified and future-ready industrial destination.
