Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) has appointed Krishna Das as an Independent Director on its Board, strengthening the company’s governance framework and strategic oversight.
In a regulatory filing, the state-run dredging major said the appointment is effective from the date of notification and will be subject to applicable statutory provisions and shareholder approval, where required.
Krishna Das is understood to bring with him extensive experience in public administration and infrastructure-related sectors. Officials said his induction is expected to enhance the Board’s expertise in policy alignment, project management and operational efficiency.
DCI, headquartered in Visakhapatnam, plays a critical role in maintaining navigable depths at major and non-major ports across India. The company undertakes capital and maintenance dredging projects, supporting maritime trade and port-led development initiatives.
Industry observers noted that the addition of an independent director comes at a time when infrastructure and port modernisation efforts are gaining momentum, increasing the importance of robust corporate governance in public sector enterprises.
The company said it remains committed to strengthening its leadership structure and improving performance across key dredging and marine engineering projects nationwide.
