EDECS and MEDLOG have signed an agreement to develop a new dry port in the 10th of Ramadan City, marking a significant step toward strengthening inland logistics infrastructure in Egypt.
The project aims to ease congestion at seaports by shifting cargo handling and clearance activities inland, enabling faster and more efficient movement of goods. The dry port will serve as a key logistics hub, linking industrial zones with major maritime gateways through integrated transport networks.
Officials stated that the facility will offer customs clearance, storage, and multimodal transport services, helping to reduce turnaround times and logistics costs for importers and exporters. The development is also expected to support growing industrial activity in the region.
The partnership combines EDECS’ expertise in infrastructure development with MEDLOG’s global logistics capabilities, ensuring efficient execution and operation of the project.
Industry observers view the initiative as part of Egypt’s broader strategy to modernize its logistics sector, improve supply chain efficiency, and position itself as a regional trade hub connecting Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
