Digital freight booking platform Freightos has announced a leadership transition, with founder Zvi Schreiber stepping down as Chief Executive Officer and moving to a board-level role, marking a new phase in the company’s evolution.
Schreiber, who founded Freightos in 2012, will remain closely involved in the company’s strategic direction as a member of the board, following more than a decade at the helm during which he oversaw Freightos’ growth into a global freight rate benchmarking and booking platform.
The company said the transition is part of a planned CEO succession process, aimed at positioning Freightos for its next stage of growth, with a stronger focus on operational execution, scalability and progress toward profitability. An interim CEO has been appointed while the board conducts a search for a permanent successor.
Under Schreiber’s leadership, Freightos pioneered real-time digital freight pricing, launched the widely tracked Freightos Baltic Index (FBX), and expanded its platform across ocean, air and multimodal freight, serving carriers, forwarders and shippers worldwide.
In a statement, the company said Schreiber’s continued presence on the board would ensure leadership continuity and strategic oversight, while allowing day-to-day management to transition to new leadership.
The announcement comes at a time when digital freight platforms are navigating normalising freight markets, tighter margins and increased demand for efficiency and transparency across global supply chains.
Freightos said further updates on the permanent CEO appointment will be announced in due course.
