India and New Zealand have concluded a landmark Free Trade Agreement that will grant duty-free access to 70% of Indian goods entering the New Zealand market, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced. The deal is expected to significantly boost bilateral trade, expand export opportunities for Indian manufacturers, and deepen economic ties between the two nations.
The agreement covers a wide range of sectors, including textiles, engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products, providing Indian exporters with improved market access and stronger competitiveness. Officials said the pact also includes measures to streamline customs procedures and promote investment flows.
Goyal described the FTA as a major milestone in India’s trade strategy, aimed at securing new markets and strengthening supply chain partnerships. Businesses on both sides are expected to benefit from lower tariffs, greater certainty, and enhanced cooperation across key industries.
