India is expanding its agricultural and processed-food export basket, with a range of products finding buyers in new international markets during July 2026. The development highlights the country’s growing focus on export diversification and value-added food products.
Among the products shipped were Amrapali mangoes, premium Areko cherries, Scentrose plums, frozen French fries, ginger, pineapple, honey, GI-tagged Lakadong turmeric, flavoured makhana and Purabi ice cream. The consignments reached markets including the UAE, Singapore, Iraq, Canada, Bhutan and the Maldives.
Amrapali mangoes produced in Gumla and Deoghar in Jharkhand were exported to Dubai, while Neelam and Totapuri mangoes from Karnataka reached the Maldives. Premium Areko cherries and Scentrose plums from Jammu and Kashmir were shipped to the UAE and Singapore respectively.
Processed food exports also gained ground. Frozen French fries manufactured in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, were shipped to Iraq, while flavoured makhana from Darbhanga, Bihar, entered the Canadian market. Ginger, pineapple, honey and GI-tagged Lakadong turmeric from Meghalaya were exported to Singapore, while Purabi ice cream from Assam reached Bhutan.
The latest shipments reflect efforts by exporters and government agencies to move beyond traditional agricultural commodities and tap demand for speciality, premium and value-added food products in overseas markets.
The expansion of destination markets could create new opportunities for farmers, food processors and exporters across different Indian states, while strengthening the country’s presence in the global agri-food trade.
