India’s fruit and vegetable exports continued to grow despite higher U.S. tariffs and ongoing trade restrictions, supported by strong global demand, market diversification and rising shipments to the Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia.
Exporters said Indian fresh produce shipments remained resilient as buyers increasingly sourced fruits and vegetables from India due to competitive pricing, improved quality standards and expanded cold chain logistics infrastructure.
Industry participants noted that while U.S. tariffs created pricing pressure for certain products, exporters offset the impact by targeting alternative international markets and strengthening value-added agricultural exports.
India’s fresh produce sector has also benefited from government support measures, improved phytosanitary compliance and growing investments in post-harvest handling, packaging and refrigerated transportation.
The continued growth in fruit and vegetable exports highlights the resilience of India’s agricultural trade sector amid shifting global trade dynamics and protectionist measures in major export markets.
