India’s electronics exports have emerged as one of the country’s top three export categories, with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw projecting stronger growth ahead as manufacturing capacity and global demand continue to expand.
Speaking on India’s growing electronics sector, Vaishnaw said exports of smartphones, semiconductors and electronic components have accelerated significantly due to government-backed production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes and rising investments from global manufacturers.
The minister highlighted that India is increasingly positioning itself as a major electronics manufacturing and export hub, supported by supply chain diversification strategies adopted by multinational companies and expanding domestic production ecosystems.
India’s electronics exports have witnessed rapid growth over the past few years, driven largely by smartphone shipments, component manufacturing and increasing participation of global technology firms in the country’s industrial sector.
The government expects continued momentum in electronics exports as India strengthens infrastructure, improves ease of doing business and expands manufacturing capabilities to capture a larger share of global electronics trade.
