MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has expanded its logistics footprint in Central Africa by integrating the Port of Kribi into its regional intermodal transport network, strengthening cargo connectivity between maritime gateways and inland markets across the region.

The move is expected to improve cargo movement efficiency and provide customers with enhanced multimodal transport solutions linking the deepwater port in Cameroon with key commercial and industrial destinations in Central Africa. Industry observers said the integration will support faster inland distribution and improve access to regional trade corridors.

Kribi Port has been gaining importance as a strategic maritime hub due to its deepwater capabilities and ability to handle larger container vessels. The port plays a growing role in facilitating trade for Cameroon and neighboring landlocked countries through road and rail transport links.

MSC said the expanded intermodal network is designed to provide more reliable and flexible logistics services for cargo including consumer goods, industrial equipment, agricultural products and project cargo. The development aligns with rising demand for integrated supply chain solutions across African markets.

Analysts noted that shipping lines are increasingly investing in inland logistics and multimodal infrastructure to strengthen end-to-end cargo services and improve supply chain resilience. Enhanced connectivity through Kribi is also expected to support regional trade integration and economic activity across Central Africa.
