The Railway Board has deputed several Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officers to senior positions at Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), in a move aimed at strengthening leadership and operational efficiency at the state-run logistics firm.

According to official sources, the appointments are intended to enhance coordination between Indian Railways and CONCOR, which plays a critical role in containerized cargo movement across the country. The deputed officers are expected to bring domain expertise in freight operations, network planning, and logistics management.

The move comes as CONCOR continues to expand its footprint in inland container depots, multimodal logistics parks, and rail-based cargo services. Strengthening its leadership team is seen as key to improving service delivery and responding to growing demand for efficient supply chain solutions.

Industry observers note that closer alignment between the Railway Board and CONCOR could help streamline operations, optimize asset utilization, and improve turnaround times for container trains.

The deputation also reflects a broader push to enhance institutional capacity within public sector logistics entities, particularly at a time when India is focusing on reducing logistics costs and boosting freight efficiency.

With experienced IRTS officers taking on strategic roles, CONCOR is expected to further consolidate its position as a leading player in the country’s container logistics sector.
