OOCL has launched a new shipping service connecting Southeast Asia with the Indian subcontinent, aiming to strengthen regional trade connectivity and improve cargo movement across key Asian markets.
The new service is expected to provide direct links between major ports in Southeast Asia and India, offering exporters and importers enhanced transit options, improved schedule reliability and wider network coverage. The route will support cargo flows including consumer goods, electronics, textiles, chemicals and industrial products.
Industry observers said the introduction of the service reflects rising trade volumes within Asia and growing demand for efficient intra-regional shipping solutions. Carriers are increasingly expanding feeder and regional networks to support manufacturing diversification and shifting supply chain patterns across Asia.
The move also comes as shipping lines continue to adjust service rotations and deploy additional capacity on regional trade lanes amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainties and congestion risks affecting global maritime trade. The expanded connectivity is expected to benefit businesses involved in India–ASEAN trade by enabling faster and more flexible cargo transportation.
