Oswal Greenzo Energies—a joint venture between Oswal Energies Limited and Greenzo Energy India Limited—has secured a landmark contract to establish a 5 MW green hydrogen plant at Deendayal Port, Kandla, under the Government of India’s Sagarmala initiative.

The project, described as the first green hydrogen facility to be developed at an Indian port, will be executed on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) basis. Designed with scalability in mind, the facility includes provisions for future expansion up to 10 MW. Once operational, it is expected to produce approximately 800 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, catering to port operations as well as the mobility sector.

The initiative aligns closely with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, supporting the adoption of clean hydrogen across maritime, logistics and transport ecosystems. Commenting on the development, Oswal Energies Managing Director Ratan Bokadia said the contract is a strong endorsement of the company’s technical and engineering capabilities and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering projects in line with global standards.

A company spokesperson termed the project a significant milestone for Indian engineering firms in the rapidly evolving green hydrogen sector, highlighting the growing role of domestic players in advanced clean-energy infrastructure.

The contract was formally signed in Gandhidham on 28 January 2026 in the presence of senior executives from Oswal Energies, Greenzo Energy India and the Deendayal Port Authority. Greenzo Energy India Executive Director Kushal Agarwal noted that ports are major hubs of industrial activity, logistics and energy consumption, and said the deployment of green hydrogen at this scale demonstrates its viability for integration into critical infrastructure. He added that the project reflects the company’s focus on developing scalable and commercially viable hydrogen solutions.

The joint venture said the Kandla project strengthens its position in building green hydrogen infrastructure for both domestic and international markets, leveraging its expertise in hydrogen technologies and renewable energy integration.
