Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has assured exporters that the government will deploy all available policy tools to help manage disruptions caused by ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The minister said authorities are closely monitoring shipping routes and working to mitigate the impact of surcharges, delays, and logistical bottlenecks on Indian exports.
Addressing a trade forum, Goyal emphasized that exporters would receive support through financial measures, improved port coordination, and regulatory interventions to ensure shipments reach international markets on time. He added that the government is also engaging with shipping lines and regional authorities to stabilize freight flows and reduce uncertainties.
Industry representatives welcomed the announcement, noting that many exporters, especially in textiles, automotive, and agricultural sectors, have been facing rising costs and shipment delays due to the geopolitical situation.
