South Central Railway’s (SCR) Hyderabad Division is developing a next-generation, app-based parcel logistics platform designed to integrate first-mile pickup, rail-based mid-mile transport, and last-mile delivery into a single digital ecosystem. The initiative aims to simplify and accelerate parcel movement while offering customers greater transparency and end-to-end convenience.

The upcoming Rail Parcel App will function as a one-stop solution for booking, tracking, and managing consignments. It is designed to connect individuals, businesses, industry players, and logistics partners on a unified platform, enabling seamless coordination across the entire logistics chain. SCR plans to introduce the application on a pilot basis across the Hyderabad Division before scaling it further.

Calling it a potential game changer, SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava said the service will enable true door-to-door parcel movement by allowing logistics service providers to collaborate with the Railways for first- and last-mile connectivity. This partnership model, he noted, would create a win-win framework for both Railways and private logistics operators.

As part of the rollout, SCR has invited interested agencies and fleet operators to partner with the Railways in providing integrated first-mile and last-mile services that will complement the mid-mile railway network, the zone said in a release.
