In a strategic move to expand its technology-driven logistics capabilities, Tata Motors has acquired logistics technology platform Freight Tiger for ₹95.66 crore. Following the acquisition, Freight Tiger will operate as a subsidiary of Tata Motors, reinforcing the automaker’s growing focus on connected logistics and digital freight solutions.

Freight Tiger is known for its SaaS-enabled logistics marketplace and Transportation Management System (TMS), which digitally connects shippers, transporters, fleet owners, and logistics service providers on a unified platform. The company has built a strong presence in freight visibility, trip management, and transport digitisation.

The acquisition is expected to significantly enhance Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle ecosystem through integration with its Fleet Edge connected vehicle platform. Together, the combined technologies aim to create an end-to-end digital logistics ecosystem covering vehicle operations, freight movement, real-time tracking, trip efficiency, and supply chain optimisation.

The development highlights a broader trend within India’s commercial vehicle and logistics sector, where manufacturers are increasingly moving beyond traditional vehicle sales and investing in technology, data intelligence, and ecosystem-led logistics solutions to support the country’s rapidly digitising supply chain landscape.
