The government has confirmed that no incidents involving Indian ships have been reported in the Gulf region, offering reassurance amid heightened geopolitical tensions and increased scrutiny of maritime traffic.

Officials said Indian-flagged and Indian-linked vessels operating in the Gulf continue normal movements, with no confirmed security breaches, detentions, or attacks affecting them so far. Authorities are maintaining close coordination with shipping companies, maritime agencies, and regional partners to monitor developments.

The statement comes as concerns persist over the safety of commercial shipping routes in the Gulf, particularly around key chokepoints such as the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for global energy and cargo flows.

India has a significant stake in the region, with a large share of crude oil, LNG, and merchandise trade transiting Gulf waters. Ensuring uninterrupted maritime movement remains a priority for both trade continuity and energy security.

Officials added that contingency measures and regular advisories remain in place, while the situation continues to be reviewed in coordination with industry stakeholders.
