    A round table held in Delhi, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Indian Importers, has shed light on the burgeoning trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and India. The event, attended by representatives from both nations’ business communities, highlighted the vast potential for collaboration and investment between the two countries, Dunyo anews agency reported.

    Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev of Uzbekistan presented a comprehensive overview of his country’s industrial and agricultural sectors, showcasing the diverse range of products available for export and investment. He emphasized the significant progress made in bilateral trade and economic relations in recent years, echoing the mutual commitment of leaders from both nations to increase the volume of mutual trade to $1 bn.

    The newly appointed Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan, Smita Pant, urged members of the business community to actively participate in strengthening bilateral relations and capitalize on the favorable business environment in both countries. Her call to action resonated with attendees, emphasizing the importance of leveraging opportunities for business and investment activities.

    Discussions at the round table also centered on the outcomes of the Third Tashkent International Investment Forum, held in Uzbekistan’s capital on May 2-3. Participants highlighted the significance of the agreements signed during the forum and explored avenues for further collaboration.

    Yash Pal Sachar, vice president for corporate affairs at Ashok Leyland, shared insights from his recent visit to Uzbekistan as part of the investment forum. He emphasized the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between Indian companies and Uzbekistan, particularly in sectors like automotive manufacturing. Sachar’s positive experience in Uzbekistan, including productive discussions with local businesses and cultural immersion, underscored the promising opportunities for collaboration.

    The round table also provided a platform for discussing ways to enhance transport and logistics systems between Uzbekistan and India, as well as strategies for promoting Uzbek products in the Indian market.
