Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said India is firmly on the right growth trajectory, with exports set to play a pivotal role in sustaining the country’s position as the fastest-growing large economy over the next 25 years.

Speaking at an event in New Delhi to launch seven additional interventions under the Export Promotion Mission, the Minister emphasised that strengthening MSME exports is central to India’s long-term economic vision. The new measures are aimed at enhancing market access, improving competitiveness, streamlining compliance processes and supporting capacity-building efforts for micro, small and medium enterprises.

Highlighting the importance of exports as a growth engine, Goyal said India’s expanding global footprint and diversified export basket position the country strongly amid shifting global trade dynamics. He noted that sustained export growth would not only bolster foreign exchange earnings but also generate employment and promote balanced regional development.

Marking the occasion of World Day of Social Justice, the Minister underlined that inclusive growth is fundamental to achieving social justice. He stressed that India’s economic transformation must empower those at the bottom of the pyramid and ensure equitable opportunities across sectors and geographies.

“Inclusive development is the true foundation of social justice. Our growth story must create opportunities for MSMEs, startups and entrepreneurs in every corner of the country,” he said.

Goyal further stated that MSMEs form the backbone of India’s export ecosystem and are critical to integrating local enterprises with global value chains. He called for greater collaboration between industry bodies, financial institutions and government agencies to address bottlenecks and provide targeted support to small exporters.

The Export Promotion Mission interventions are part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen India’s trade ecosystem, enhance ease of doing business and build resilient supply chains. The initiative also aligns with the vision of transforming India into a developed nation over the next two decades, powered by innovation, entrepreneurship and global trade integration.

With focused reforms and targeted support, the government aims to ensure that India’s export-led growth remains inclusive, sustainable and globally competitive.
