Greenstat Hydrogen India (GHI), a developer of green hydrogen and its derivatives, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Norway-based H2Carrier, a pioneer in floating green ammonia production solutions. The partnership aims to advance green hydrogen and ammonia projects in India and Sri Lanka, with a focus on innovative floating production technologies, a Business Daily reported.

The collaboration will involve identifying suitable project locations in India and Sri Lanka. Feasibility studies will assess the viability and potential impact of each project. The companies will then work towards implementing green hydrogen and ammonia production facilities using H2Carrier’s innovative technology.

The P2XFloater technology is the world’s first floating green ammonia production facility. It utilizes renewable energy sources, offering a flexible and efficient approach to green hydrogen and ammonia production. This technology addresses the growing demand for clean energy in sectors like shipping, agriculture, and heavy industries.

Sturle Harald Pedersen, Chairman and CEO of GHI, highlighted the importance of sustainable and scalable solutions for accelerating the energy transition. He emphasized the flexibility and efficiency of H2Carrier’s P2XFloater technology in addressing the need for clean energy.

Marten Lunde, CEO of H2Carrier, emphasised the partnership’s potential to bring economic and environmental benefits to India and Sri Lanka. He noted the importance of promoting green ammonia solutions in these key markets.

The partnership aims to support industrial decarbonisation efforts by providing green ammonia as a clean fuel and energy carrier. This addresses the increasing global demand for green ammonia and contributes to a more sustainable energy future. The collaboration between GHI and H2Carrier represents a significant step towards advancing green hydrogen and ammonia technologies in South Asia.
