The Gujarat government has rolled out its State Integrated Logistics Master Plan (ILMP) along with dedicated City Logistics Plans (CLPs) for Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Junagadh, marking a major push to build a future-ready logistics ecosystem. The long-term strategy, unveiled at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conclave in Rajkot, features a project pipeline valued at over ₹1.80 lakh crore, extending through 2047.

The ILMP lays out a comprehensive multimodal logistics framework, integrating road, rail, air and maritime connectivity to reduce transportation costs, enhance supply chain efficiency and support Gujarat’s expanding industrial and export base. The plan aligns closely with national logistics reforms and the PM Gati Shakti initiative, reinforcing Gujarat’s role as a key logistics and manufacturing hub.

At the urban level, the newly introduced CLPs aim to address critical city freight challenges, including traffic congestion, last-mile delivery bottlenecks and environmental impact. Measures include improving urban freight movement, strengthening last-mile connectivity and promoting sustainable, low-emission logistics solutions within municipal limits.

Key focus areas of the strategy include the development of logistics parks and multimodal hubs, improved port–industrial corridor connectivity, and the adoption of digital planning and decision-support tools. State officials noted that these initiatives are expected to significantly enhance Gujarat’s attractiveness for manufacturing, MSMEs, exports and e-commerce investments.

Overall, the ILMP and city-level plans are positioned as a cornerstone of Gujarat’s long-term economic vision, aimed at driving economic growth, job creation, and ensuring seamless movement of goods across the state in the decades ahead.
