India Post has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bengaluru District Bureau (BDB) to establish a dedicated Foreign Post Office aimed at supporting exporters.
The initiative is designed to streamline international shipping processes for businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), by providing faster customs clearance and improved handling of export consignments. The facility will enable exporters to access global markets more efficiently through simplified documentation and logistics support.
Officials stated that the Foreign Post Office will offer end-to-end solutions, including parcel booking, tracking, and compliance assistance, reducing turnaround times and operational complexities for exporters.
The collaboration is expected to boost outbound shipments from the region, especially in sectors such as handicrafts, textiles, electronics, and e-commerce. By enhancing postal export infrastructure, the initiative aligns with the government’s broader push to promote exports and support MSMEs.
Industry stakeholders have welcomed the move, noting that improved access to international logistics networks will help smaller exporters scale operations and compete more effectively in global markets.
