India’s shipping minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that Indian seafarers remain safe as maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz resumes following disruptions.

The restoration of vessel movement through the key shipping corridor is expected to support the smooth flow of global trade, including energy and cargo shipments that rely heavily on the route.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of Indian maritime personnel and maintain secure shipping operations. The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical route for international energy transportation and global supply chains.

The resumption of traffic provides relief to shipping operators and exporters who faced uncertainty due to earlier disruptions, while efforts continue to maintain stability in the region’s maritime operations.
