MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is set to deploy the vessel MSC Hailey Ann II on its upcoming Ochna service connecting China and Vietnam, with operations scheduled to commence on 19 June.
The new service is aimed at strengthening intra-Asia trade connectivity and supporting growing cargo demand between key manufacturing and export hubs in China and Vietnam. Industry sources said the Ochna service will provide improved shipping frequency and enhanced regional supply chain integration for customers operating across Asian markets.
The deployment forms part of MSC’s broader strategy to expand its intra-Asia network amid increasing trade activity and shifting production patterns in the region. Vietnam has continued to emerge as a major manufacturing and export centre, driving higher demand for efficient container shipping services linking Southeast Asia with China.
Shipping analysts noted that carriers are actively adding regional feeder and short-sea services to improve schedule reliability and cargo flexibility as intra-Asian trade volumes continue to rise. Enhanced connectivity is also expected to support sectors including electronics, textiles, machinery and consumer goods.
MSC said the new Ochna service will help provide customers with more reliable transit options and strengthen cargo movement efficiency across key regional trade corridors.
