Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has achieved its highest-ever cargo handling for the month of January, moving 14.44 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo in January 2026. This surpasses the previous January record of 14.32 MMT set in 2024, according to a statement from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

The milestone underscores Paradip Port’s position as one of India’s leading major ports and reflects steady growth in operational capacity. The performance was attributed to sustained infrastructure augmentation, streamlined processes, and improved coordination among terminals and stakeholders.

PPA Chairman P L Haranadh credited the achievement to the strategic leadership of Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, along with the efforts of officers, employees, contractual workers, and port stakeholders.

With a continued focus on modernisation, capacity enhancement, and operational excellence, Paradip Port aims to further support India’s expanding trade and economic growth.
