Pilbara Ports reported a total monthly throughput of 65.7 million tonnes (Mt) for August 2025, holding steady with the figure recorded in August 2024.

The Port of Port Hedland moved 45.3Mt for the month, of which 44.3Mt was iron ore exports.

This marks a 7 per cent decline in total throughput compared to the same month last year.

Imports through the Port of Port Hedland reached 182,000 tonnes, up 6 per cent on August 2024.

The Port of Dampier delivered a total throughput of 16.2Mt, reflecting a 3 per cent increase year-on-year (YoY).

Imports at Dampier totalled 114,000 tonnes, a 20 per cent lift from August 2024.

Throughput variations are influenced by a range of factors, including market dynamics,  maintenance schedules, and individual proponent requirements.

Last month, Pilbara Ports released its first Climate Action Plan (2025–2030), setting a framework to guide sustainable port operations and support decarbonisation across the Pilbara region.
