Singapore’s PSA Corporation and China COSCO Shipping have deepened their cooperation with the launch of expanded operations at PSA’s Tuas Port, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between the two global maritime giants.
The enhanced collaboration will see COSCO Shipping increase its presence at Tuas through advanced terminal operations, digital integration and the deployment of larger container vessels, aligning with Tuas Port’s ambition to become the world’s largest fully automated transshipment hub.
PSA said the move strengthens Singapore’s role as a key transshipment gateway while giving COSCO greater operational efficiency, scalability and access to regional trade flows. The Tuas facility is designed to handle 65 million TEUs annually upon full completion, with state-of-the-art automation and sustainable solutions at its core.
COSCO Shipping, one of the world’s largest container carriers, has maintained a strategic partnership with PSA for decades, collaborating at Pasir Panjang Terminals before transitioning major operations to Tuas. The expansion is expected to improve service reliability and support the Ocean Alliance network.
Industry analysts note that the deal comes at a time of shifting global supply chains, with Tuas emerging as a central hub for carriers seeking resilience, connectivity and digital-driven growth.
