India’s logistics sector is navigating a turbulent phase, with stock values of major players witnessing a steep decline over the past year. The sector, once seen as a high-growth story, is now grappling with margin pressures, slowing cargo volumes, and stiff competition that has eroded market share.

Domestic challenges have been compounded by global headwinds, intensifying the downturn. However, leading logistics firms are charting aggressive strategies to reclaim growth, with investors closely watching for signs of a turnaround.

    Strategic Goals in Focus
Several listed players have laid out clear medium-term growth targets:

CONCOR has guided for 13% volume growth in the coming years.

Blue Dart is targeting robust earnings and revenue expansion.

Gateway Distriparks has set its sights on double-digit volume growth, while its subsidiary Snowman Logistics has seen promoter holding rise from 45% to 50% between March 2024 and March 2025.

TVS Supply Chain is working to improve its before-tax profit margin from 0.5% in Q4 FY25 to 4% by Q4 FY27.

Allcargo Gati has projected 8–10% volume growth, with its parent Allcargo Logistics betting on digital initiatives to capture market share.

VRL Logistics expects volumes to remain flat in FY26, before growth resumes in FY27.

    Investor Interest Remains Steady
Despite the downturn, investor activity has provided key signals. TCI Express, which conducted a buyback at ₹2,050/share in 2022, now trades nearly 63% lower, but has guided for 11–13% revenue growth in FY26. Ace investor Mukul Agarwal has maintained a 4.76% stake in Allcargo Gati, reflecting continued belief in the sector’s potential.

    Cautious Optimism from Analysts
Market analysts remain divided on the near-term trajectory but see long-term value. Many have issued ‘Buy’ ratings on select logistics stocks, citing strong return potential once the industry weathers current challenges.

While the immediate outlook is volatile, the sector’s strategic pivots and investor backing suggest that India’s logistics story is far from over—pointing instead to a period of consolidation before the next growth wave.
